What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a natural form of healthcare that focuses on the correct function of your body's musculoskeletal system. Basically all of your moving parts, and your nervous system's interaction with and control of those moving parts. Malfunction of those moving parts can lead to pain and decreased function, and may be the cause of your ailment.

After taking a complete health history and performing an examination, we can determine the cause of your condition. To aid in your diagnosis we have on-site digital X-ray at our disposal. Compiling all of those details, we can determine if your condition is one that chiropractic can help. If it is, we design a treatment plan specific to your needs. Treatment usually consists of spinal manipulation (adjustments) and a variety of ancillary therapies (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, laser therapy, soft tissue therapy, exercise therapy, and massage therapy) to best suit your individual needs.

A chiropractic adjustment is a specific maneuver designed to create motion in the joint. It is quick, with low force and sometimes makes a popping noise. The adjustment is great for helping with low back pain, neck pain, headaches, muscular pain as well as restoring range of motion, and enabling enhanced flexibility and improved joint performance.

Exercise therapy to strengthen the core muscles. Exercise is an essential part of any health program. Chiropractic care is about restoring the function of the musculoskeletal system. Once the motion is restored in the joints the supporting muscles must be strengthened to ensure stability and control. Patients are encouraged to get active in their own health by starting exercise programs. We can help you to design one that works for you.
